A Current Petition to Close JRC for Their Abuse of Students

The Judge Rotenberg Center (a "school" for kids who have autism, adhd, and for special needs kids) has long been under fire for its controversial acts of abuse against the students there. The UN has twice called JRC out for using torture on the children there and pleaded the US to do a thorough investigation. The center had been in hot water since 2007 and yet still continues to electrocute students and opperate as a private school. It is located in Camden, Massachusetts .

There is at this time a current petition for 2013 against the JRC. The petition was started by Gregory Miller, a former employee there. The petitions aim is not only to stop the electric shocking of students, but also to close down the JRC once and for all!! ! The petition is addressed to the Governor of MA, the MA State Senate , and the MA State House.

Please take part in signing this petition for all the kids being totured there just for not being neurotypical.

I wish everyone would.

Am I correct that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has gone to court to annul the settlement decree that effectively has allowed the JRC to function outside of the state's control?

A quick Google search shows that New York State has also started (as of March 2013) to cut the JRC off of funding.

I would be interested to know how things have (or have not) changed since Matthew Israel left as part of a deal with the DA.

I have looked at some of the papers which he has written and frankly they fall short of what I expect in an academic journal, he has a odd idea of side effects. To my mind a side effect is an unwanted effect of a drug or other treatment but when he wrote a paper about the side effects of his treatment his "side effects" seemed to be the desired effects.

I hold a view that the JRC should be closed down as soon as possible, what has gone on there is deeply wrong.

The people in Broadmoor high security hospital are treated in a more humane and respectful way than the people in the JRC. Also the people in Broadmoor have done much worse things than those in the JRC.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.
