... or any state in Australia to legalise it. Or Australia as a whole, for that matter (which won't happen any time soon).
Nowhere in Australia has same-sex marriage been legalised. At least the same can't be said for neighbouring New Zealand.
Nonetheless, I'm happy to see progress being made on different fronts: Uruguay, New Zealand, France, Rhode Island, Delaware ... they've all jumped on board with marriage equality this year. Good luck for the state of Minnesota, next week. And soon for people in the UK and Colombia (barring any injunctions), too.

If we are talking about an insurance company being "forced" to extend benefits to the same-sex spouse of a policy holder, I am quite content to see that accommodation forced upon them. If we are talking about a hospital being "forced" to accept instructions from a patient's same-sex spouse, and "forced" into releasing the body of a deceased into the custody of a same-sex widow, I'm all for it. (Not mention the simple courtesy of visiting). If we're talking about a B&B being forced to honour their contract with a same-sex couple, force away.
But if we're talking about forcing raging homophobes to change their minds about liking the gays, I am content to leave them to their prejudices.
Entirely agree, with both the sentiments and wording.
