Given the kind of economy we're in. I couldn't resist putting this up. Too much lulz.

I guess timeans law enforcement doesn't know what priority-setting is.

At some stage every little kid sets up a lemonade stand in his front yard. My 5 year old granddaughter did it last week.

But to do it in Central Park? That is another matter entirely.
There are laws about street vendors and food safety and those laws were passed for good reasons.

The supervisor rescinded the ticket.

Wow that’s really funny...this family friend , girl that I grew up, with was just reminiscing yesterday about how she had always wanted to have a lemonade stand as a child...but her parents were too paranoid and rule oriented to let her have one. They were afraid she would get in trouble for selling something without a permit! We laughed about it and imagined police coming and turning over lemonade pitchers and stomping on lemons...taking the stand down. I can't believe a ten year old kid actually got in trouble for not having a permit for selling lemonade!! Ohhhh capitalism...................

My parents wouldn't let me and my brother sell cookies, for the same reason.

My mum also tried to make us think that selling stuff to neighbours is the same thing as begging (which is the same thing as trick-or-treating (she hates that tradition)).

While I can fully understand them being stopped for lack of a permit, I don't see why they couldn't have just told them to pack up and leave. The man offered to go peacefully, and there's absolutely no reason to ticket him.
