I had read about this before on another site, and despite their claim that it was possibly a miscarriage, many of the commenters had suggested that she had either given birth and then killed it, or had some sort of abortion. If she did indeed miscarry, then she may have been in shock and tried to cover it up without leaving evidence there. Depending on how far along she was, she may not have even known she was pregnant until it happened (and I'm sure that's not terribly uncommon). That said, we don't know the whole story, so I think it's best not to make judgments until we have more information.

I feel as if these girls must just have something suspicious about them anyways, as to warrant security to check them. Also that must've been some stench if the guards smelled it over the Victoria's Secret smell.

You'd think they'd come up with a plan other than carrying the dead fetus into the mall.

The medical examiner said that the baby was born alive, then smothered to death.

A baby, not a fetus.

New York does have the Safe Haven law, wherein a mother can legally hand over her baby at any police station, fire department, or hospital without questions, or negative repercussions.......point being, there was at least one option wherein the child would have had a life.

R.I.P., little one, you deserved better.

Sadly, people can't choose to be born to decent parents.

It would have been more merciful to have been aborted early term than to be smothered.
How could you go shopping after smothering a baby?

How could no one around her not notice that she was pregnant?

Family?

Gym class?

Oh, and just where is Baby Daddy?

Baby Daddy is busy making more pregnancies no doubt.

That's too bad. I had thought of a couple of imaginary scenarios that involved a miscarriage and didn't involve the mother killing it after birth that just made her seem troubled or mentally ill and not bad.

I can sympathize a bit with her as when I was pregnant I thought of doing that a time or two. I didn't because people knew I was pregnant, I could have gone to prison, and I could have died giving birth by myself at home.

I don't think they had the safe haven law back then but I was still able to give it up for adoption. I never even had to bring it home from the hospital. While I was still there someone from an adoption agency came and had me pick a couple from a book of people waiting to adopt.

Wow, what was that like? Was it like a catalog with color photos and descriptions?

Pretty much. Each page had a picture and some info about the family.

Dear Hanyo,,

Your decision must have been difficult for you.

You did a wonderful thing for that child.

That couple, who are now parents because of your kind, generous choice, have the greatest gift from you....a child to love.

You did the right thing, and you have made three lives better.
