NYC: Youth in foster care system receives SRS
This is very good news, though the news media makes it like it was some freakish occurrence. I was particularly looking at this statement here:
"ACS reviews all requests for medical treatment on a case-by-case basis, conducting internal reviews as well as consulting medical professionals’ expertise, to ascertain the nature and severity of a medical condition and determine if a procedure will provide a significant benefit to a youth," the statement said.

It's a good thing the young trans woman in this case was able to have full consideration of her health needs, without having important options shut out by the arbitrary categorical exclusions still common in private insurance coverage today, as mentioned here:
