Agreed. Not only that, but it won't work - no kid is going to actually believe that not going to school means they're going to explode - all this accomplishes, at most, is giving kids the idea to skip school to go to the beach. Up until it got ridiculous, the message was that going to the beach instead of school is a lot of fun and a great thing to do.

I also agree that it's a very stupid ad. It should get the 'Stupidest Ad of The Year' award.

It is sort of overkill.
It's amazing how many people don't read signs.I was in the vehicle and watched one person after another walk up to this door with a sign that said Use Other Door in plain sight. All of them tried to open the door jerking on It before they noticed the sign at eye level. When the ice knocked out the power the hospitals were full of people with monoxide poisoning that somehow didn't read the big warning on the generators that said Do Not Use Indoors. And let's not forget those bright thieves in Mexico that stole the radioactive waste that had a big radiation symbol on it.

I saw that video. I hated school way too much for it to convince me to go there but it might have made me realize that I should take no trespassing signs more seriously.

When they went through the gate, I thought it was going to be something like in Creepshow 2 with the flesh-eating oil slick monster, which ironically had more graphic images/scenes than the PSA.

This ad makes me want to hang with the hippies at the beach.

I already saw it on reddit, and did not understand it as well, maybe its again an "thinking to directly" issue of Aspergers, and for non US citizens, I think its general hard to understand, due to other cultures.

As I learned afterwards from reading the comments, the link is, that if you dont go to school in the US, you will have bad marks, and one of the few carrier possibilities left, will be joining the army, which can lead to the risc of getting blown up in war territories, that you might be send.

But yeah, as someone who missed school quiet a lot, I really did not understand why the hell on earth, quitting school for a day, would force me to go to an army-training ground for swimming. XD

There was a warning sign that it was a dangerous area, since they likely had to go through the fence to get where they were they couldn't have missed it. Even someone who's terrible at reading could still probably decipher that its a danger sign...I just don't buy that missing days of public school makes someone so terribly illiterate and unobservant that they'd do that.

Once on vacation in the Gulf there was a beach that had big signs on it,No Swimming Jellyfish, there were jelly fish washing up all over the beach. And there were people swimming, don't know if they couldn't read or just were stupid.
The film is done by Australians,I have no idea if it aired in the US.I have not seen it on tv here.

Funny!

And, yes, people actually do things that foolish, despite clearly reading and understanding warning signs.

Well, this is about the most exaggerated worse-case scenario I've seen.

I am doubting that they couldn't read.
