Generally I'm bugged by so-called fashion "rules." However I don't like the long sleeves up top, shorts down below. The only time I would do that is maybe when I go running and it is cool out.

I jog with long sleeve shirts and short pants too, but a dress suit with short pants looks hideous to me. Prissy even. And short pants with dress shoes...YUCK.

I don't even own any "dress" shoes" I own nothing but running shoes,..all Saucony. Saucony is the only brand of who I have owned for over thirty years. I have no dress suits, jackets or ties, period.

They should just wear kilts.

It's a schoolboy....Oh no! It's my dad! I don't really like the idea of short suits either.

It would be pretty funny if a middle aged, high powered businessman went to a board meeting in a short suit.

Can't say I'm qualified to comment on matters of fashion, but I know stupid when I see it.

What's the fancy coat for? Keeping the blouse dry in inclement weather? A little parasol would also come in handy to stop make-up running in the rain.

Exactly. Every time I think of blazers coupled with shorts, I think of Angus Young.

Why does the obsession with the jacket and necktie survive? A shorts suit would look fine with a matching/tailored V-neck top or open-necked shirt (NOT tucked in). Just forget the pin-stripes, and replace them with some random splodges of colour.

But I'm not sure what to do about the socks! Maybe high heels and hold-ups would allow us men to re-establish our superiority...?

I like the short suit - it would be better if they were Bermuda shorts though.

But frankly I don't get why men dont wear skirts.
