Well, in that case I wont be so bashful anymore and just letter rip, then tell others its for their own benefit! Gotta love those chilly beans with onions and garlic and other spicy anti-oxidant foods! :drunken:

they may be good for you (in moderation) but that doesn't make them any more pleasant.
like being a child and having to eat steamed vegetables.

What gets me is how did they test this? someone fart in bottles for others to huff or sniff? come right up pull down their pants and fart in others faces? or just walk into a room and fart then walk out? who would volunteer for such testing? Hmm I rate this fart a 6.1 on the farto meter. and that one smells like beans with bacon!. Perhaps they tested it with sniffing their own farts.

If you want to peg a fartometer, hard boiled eggs and cheap beer is the most pungent way of doing so....

Sugarless chocolate covered almonds leaves me gassy and able to share.
Straight sugarless chocolate in large amounts sends me to the bathroom several times.

The article says that smelling farts is good for your health but the study does not say that at all. What the study actually says is that hydrogen sulfide (which gives farts their distinctive smell) can help with some conditions with targeted delivery to key places inside cells.

Quote:
It may smell of flatulence and have a reputation for being highly toxic, but when used in the right tiny dosage, hydrogen sulfide is now being being found to offer potential health benefits in a range of issues, from diabetes to stroke, heart attacks and dementia.
A new compound (AP39), designed and made at the University of Exeter, could hold the key to future therapies, by targeting delivery of very small amounts of the substance to the right (or key) places inside cells.

Saying that "smelling farts is good for health" makes a fun headline for article writers but isn't even remotely what the research shows.
