I was just about to post Don's passing, but saw you beat me to it. Just the same, his magnificent voice will be missed on SNL. :(

I wonder SNL will just use a recording of his voice from now on, as it's almost sacrilege to think they'd give the job to some mere mortal with an ordinary voice!

I doubt it. there is technology [last used by roger ebert] to where they could take his old recordings and break them down into phonemes and reconstitute "new" speech. but I think they will get a new announcer.

Like Rod Roddy, Charlie O'Donnell, and Johnny Gilbert, Don Pardo was one of the great announcing voices. He shall be missed. :(
