Natural Balance Pet Food Recall - Venison and Brown Rice

I haven't seen this many places on the news yet but there's a new pet food recall...and unfortunately it's the food that I feed my dogs....grrrr! My husband called the company this morning and it sounds like the bags we had aren't in the affected lot, but they're recalling all of it as a precaution. Thankfully my dogs seem to be okay. Anyway, I thought I'd post about it since the media doesn't seem to be getting the news out very fast since they're all focused on the shooting yesterday. I was at the Co-op Grange last week, looking at the Venison and Peas version thinking my cat might like a change from the Natural Balance original and something in me said, no, just because my brand "Natural Balance" hasn't been on the recall, don't change for MY sake.

so I didn't and now it was on the recall.

I am glad its just a precaution and I am glad your doggies are ok.

so is my cat "Makushla" a black tabby with a kinked tail. Got him at the local shelter and he is a joy to my life.

I'm SO happy that you didn't switch food...it's amazing how a "little voice" can end up being so powerful!

I don't know what I would do if anything happened to either of my dogs...I'm not too worried because they'd been eating their most recent bag of food for 2 weeks, and the lady at Natural Balance that my husband spoke to this morning said that the animals that have gotten sick showed syptoms in the first 1-4 days. But I'll definitely be paying careful attention to how they're acting just in case. I'm going to talk to our vet tomorrow just to get a little more info.

We adopted both of our dogs from friends who couldn't keep them, so we kept them from having to go to a shelter...that makes me happy
