I would like to find out who did it. Was it the North Koreans in retaliation for an upcoming movie that parodies Kim?

But I have to admit I don't see it as quite as bad as the types that compromise average people's privacy and finances.

This is so far as I have seen at least, an attempt to embarrass and discredit. But it also has a tinge of exposure. I admit some bias against the rich and famous, media and the entertainment industry. I don't like the gap between what they try and present and what really is.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone who worked at Sony, but got let go therefore this was retaliation.

As for North Korea being involved, I read an article in which the North Korean government states that it wasn't them, but the North Korean government stated their support for this hack. Another article stated that it was a group called "The Guardians Of Peace" that claimed responsibility.

Yeah, but not against The 'Guardians of Peace'. They are warning legal action against media that publishes the material. But its apparently all Bluff.

There is report that the demand(s) made by the hackers is that the movie 'The Interview' not be released. They all warn of a larger release as a 'Christmas Gift'.

Bizarre stuff.

The Interview is getting a lot of free publicity. I might have to watch it because of all the fuzz.

You know what they say. There is no such thing as bad publicity. But I think some individuals will not fair well in all this.

The situation has become more serious as the hackers have now made threats of 9/11 type retaliation against theatres that show the film. At least one theatre chain has cancelled showing the film, and all movie promotions are cancelled at this time.

This has tripped the terrorism response button in the USA, but as of this time the hackers are still unidentified, though due to the subject and motive the main suspect is North Korea.

Is it possible to pre-order the DVD?

I imagine the film itself has got to be hacked/pirated at some point if it does not get released. They are probably watching it in Somalia already, if not North Korea. Kim is probably doing a marathon session watching it over and over as we speak, and ordering the merciless extrudiation of various actors and producers with each pass, as his lackies scribble notes. He's probably down to Key Grips and Best Boy by now.

This just in ...
Sony has cancelled the release of "The Interview." Which seems to me to a bad decision, giving in to Terrorists. I'm hearing that some critics may get to see it, but it won't go to theaters.

This film has just made my "must see" list.
Yep, it's up to two now. This one and the last Hobbit movie.
