This Applied Behavioural Centre Carlton Palms in Florida is still allowed to operate despite criminal abuse by staff of the inmates - one was recently jailed for scalding a young autistic girl. Over the past decade there have been a huge number of complaints about abuse.
Another young autistic girl died there last year from neglect/mistreament/maltreatment. People are dying and being abused and neglected, yet still the proselytising defenders of ABA who spread the "good news" of its benefits typically claim that these things "don't happen anymore - that was back in the 60s" and that critics don't understand how modern ABA is used. (The same people generally who use the "gold standard treatment" and "evidence based" rhetoric, as if both those claims had absolute scientific credibility, yet it's only rhetorical spin endlessly repeated under the false cloak of science as a recruiting technique by parents, A$ and ABA 'therapists'. Meta-analysis has been done on the claims and the results show that they are scientifically false.
