Hello everyone,

What are your thoughts on this particular fight ? I recently finished watching it with my family on HBO PPV, and I was kind of disappointed with the results of the overall fight. I think that this was, in many ways, based on politics.

What do you guys think ?

~ Hilary ~

I've never been a boxing fan, so had little to no interest in the event

am torn between the better angel over my right shoulder, and the worse angel over my left shoulder- I don't like violence, yet a part of me wishes the fella from the phillipines knocked the block off of that braggart bully mayweather, and set him back on his heels a few pegs. but I suppose in this dark world that people like him never can lose.

Better watch it.

People will begin to think you're not a true blue blood and violence vampire (jumping on the latest blood and violence news story offered up by our "public" media, and sucking up sustenance from it) like most, and then you may be the next meal.

Think "protective coloration?"

I think I'd rather be a people's meal [and be in heaven] than live with those monsters on main street and be guilty by association.

The fight went pretty much the way I expected it, Mayweather is an amazing defensive boxer and I knew he would neutralize Pacquiao. They called him Pretty Boy Floyd for a reason, he never looked like he was in a fight. Would of been better 5 years ago before Manny to lost Timothy Bradley and got KO'd by Juan Manuel Marquez but at least it finally happened I guess, will be awhile before there is another fight of this magnitude.

^^Yeah, its a shame that the most-hyped boxing match in years is two guys whose best fights are probably behind them.

I wonder if that proposed class action suit [against pacquiao] has any legs to it?

As much as I'm sick of all the violence in the world, I completely agree, having taken an introductory lesson and realized what a tremendous amount of precision and game theory is involved just to work a rhythm bag I respect those guys quite a lot, Pacquiao probably moreso because of his aptitude as a statesman but I believe most fighters never get credit where it's due, Mayweather is a perfect example. I loathe MMA but even I don't question the fact that its' attracted some incredibly cool people.

each made around 150 million~insane
both past prime
is Floyd the most arrogant human ever?
not the 'fight of the century'
boxing in boring compared to MMA
you would have to pay me to watch it
more theater than pugilism

the REAL money is in the betting~for the fighters and promoters
