This is some of the new research that's been done and they have a new theory (out of however many theories) that says that autism may be cause by over 100 genes, which doesn't surprise me (since autism is a mystery! lol) Anyways, here's the link if you'd like to read it:

I'm enlightened by the 100 genome thing. Makes them have to work their asses off to solve our enigma!

i think autism is a factor of genes and enviroment. mostely genes though

Chances are, the scientists working on this are Aspies themselves...I don't think I’ve ever met a decent NT scientist.

If it is 100 genes, it might be ten times as many differencies in regulatory parts of our genome. After all, autism seems to explain close to 70% of human variation. Take that away and we will all be pretty similar, uninventive and boring.
