We can only hope justice is served. Thrown into prison like a bucket of chum in a feeding frenzy.

What the hell? Cops are supposed to pepper spray someone who isn't responsive?!?! That sounds almost as idiotic as the Spokane cops who, following what they claim was department policy, had used a stun gun on a man attempting suicide by threatening to jump off a bridge. The poor man ended up leaping to his death to escape getting zapped by the stun gun.

I'd already heard about this one.
First, they treat a moving violation as if it were a felony stop for an armed robber.
Then start in with the taser and pepper spray for no reason whatsoever.
It would have been a temptation for a concerned bystander to shoot the cops as a public service.
What's next, tasing and peppering us because we have to dig for our registration and proof of insurance during a routine traffic stop followed by being charged with resisting arrest?

The police are not your friend. They are the world's biggest gang of criminal thugs. There is no difference between the police and common everyday criminals, except that they have a badge, a gun and a variety of other weapons, and they can probably get away with using any of them.

This is another example of how much of a police state the US has become.

it boils down to bad management, poor discipline, and no small measure of dissocial/antisocial personality disorder on the part of all too many cops/brass, IOW the powers-that-be are hiring polished-over warped thugs to police the rest of us. frankly, I don't believe any measure of professionalism can be restored at this point, the police infrastructure in many places needs to be yanked out by the roots and re-established from scratch, with all new people, preferably those with above-average intelligence, and with no anti-social tendencies.

I was truly astounded to learn that too high of an IQ disqualifies applicants from being accepted into the police academy.

also, i read that german shepherds are preferred police dogs because they're smart enough to obey orders but not generally smart enough to fear harm. I see a pattern there.

Cops follow orders as if they were trained dogs but are only brave when they can dominate any situation (or an old lady for that matter) with brute force. Faced with an actual threat that can and will seriously f**k them up they shrink away with thier tails between thier legs.

Like the Bundy ranch stand-off in Nevada last year ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD61YFxUga4 )? The 3:06 mark of the video is most amusing to me; federal law-enforcement agents running away from ... We the People.

The feds aren't cops, though. In fact, local police very much resent them.
As for the Bundy Ranch, I think it was more of a situation where the feds didn't want to end up looking like the bad guys again, as they had when facing armed extremists at Ruby Ridge and Waco, and so were ordered to back down.
