Austalian Mum Treats Autism with Faeces
I'm avoiding the obvious gags but she sounds serious about it.

I'd like to see the medical evidence first before I risk poisoning my child with poop or bleach.

What in the world is wrong with people, are they really that desperate for a cure?

But why? Why do some NT parents think that autism is so awful that they're willing to kill their kid in order to "cure" him? Like Kelli Stapleton who wanted to send her daughter to heaven where at least Issy would be "free of autism". What is so bad about autism, what is wrong with your kid not fulfilling YOUR dreams, never mind the fact that he has dreams and talents all his own, nooooo he is there to be a little carbon copy of you and to excel how YOU want him to? This sort of thinking, when applied to NT kids, results in the long list of kids in Palo Alto, CA (Silicon Valley) jumping in front of commuter trains because they never can please their folks. With ND kids, it results in murder. Either way, the parents seem to think that their kid is better off dead if he can't be the way his PARENTS want. Something is really wrong here, and nobody seems to care.

*shrug* she thinks she's doing the right thing, based on the cockamamie idea that autism has something to do with gut bacteria.

The gut theory stuff is huge around here, especially if the parent has a LF child. I'd be surprised if some doctor in my area isn't hawking it now.

They are not trying to intentionally kill their kids. The believe that their kids had autism imposed on them by poisoning via big pharma for profit motive. They believe that extreme unconventional methods (especially ones opposed by the mainstream media and science who they believe are a paid part of a cover up) to detoxify their kids

Yeah.

The market for corrective gut bacteria is pretty big in the states, but it's mostly in the form of yogurt and other cultured dairy products, and capsules.

The sort of treatment that she used has been used successfully to treat some gut problems, but, I think doctors would much rather not use poop.

More victims of quackery. Parents like that are desperate and scared for their kids, so they turn to quacks because they don't accept that there isn't a cure. I think those who push for pseudo-treatments get a sense of power in thinking that they know better than actual doctors.

One time I posted a conspiracy theory to PPR that said basically that transnational corporations are deliberately making people autistic because then they are easier to control, such things as keeping them on welfare and forcing them to have so many food allergies that the big co.'s can then sell them specialized food. I did so just to get a reaction. I was laughed at. If we can see how silly such an idea is, why can't parents who have college educations and tons of money and success see it? People have posted on WP that every time they say they're autistic that they get people trying to "cure" them via strange diets and weird herbal concoctions, and when they decline the pushers get very angry and tell them "you're sick, why don't you want to get well?"

Even if was proven this sh!t (pun intended) caused total NT conversion, I think I'd rather stay just the way I am than wear someone else's poop up my butt.
However if somebody wants to prove that reversing the procedure can invoke ASD in someone NT, I'll be more than happy to donate all MY brown stuff for the experiment.
