I don't know about you guys but my story with autism and finding out it was when I was much older and being down and out.

Teachers for years from reading old case notes talk about my behavior and how I was different and needed therapy. My parents wrote it off with a bad diagnosis of ADD when I was a kid. Even after that teachers still hinted and wanted me to get therapy.

My father was quick to calls others ret*d but when it came to me everyone was and still is in denial.

My parents though wanted to make sure I didn't look like a 'ret*d' so the glasses hid my crossed eyes even though I had 20/10 extra perfect vision.

I also had double sets of adult and baby teeth some were twisted and my teeth were extremely crooked. They also forced skin cream that I had allergic reaction to so my bad acne would go away.

Only things they didn't change was my tongue tie which the tip of my tongue is attached to the bottom of my mouth and my lips are fully attached to my gums though you'd never know.

So I can look the part of the professional in fact I am good somewhat at acting seemingly like I am normal for a short time until people really get to know me.

It bothers me to know end when I see stories of people who could have been helped when they were so young but ignored...

Anyone who prescribes to "faith healing" should not have children or be allowed near them, period.

They are psychopaths who are just waiting to murder a child by not giving them the medical help they require.

A small group of Mormons have more in common with antigovernment radicals such as Sovereign Citizens than with mainstream Mormonism. These splinter groups don't practice polygamy, but believe that the govt is evil and people should "live off the grid". (Antigovt Mormons should be distinguished from polygamous Mormons like the FLDS.) The whole thing about not getting birth certificates or SS numbers for their kids is rooted in the idea that it will create a class of "truly free people" who are beyond the reach of a "tyrannical" govt and who will eventually lead a revolution to topple it.

There's a fundamentalist baptist sect in my area that believes in faith healing as well. One of their members had schizoid personality that went unchecked (it was merely "demons" that needed expelled). He burned down their church and a few member's property about 15 years back because he "figured out" that's where "the demons live". The irony was excellent.

Back when I was a kid, I was wrongly diagnosed with what was still termed "hyperactivity." It wasn't till I was in my forties that I was properly diagnosed, and that was only because my daughter was diagnosed first, and saw myself in the description of high functioning autism after reading up on it.

I am in full agreement about the idiocy of faith healing. People who buy into it clearly have left their brains at home, while the people who perpetrate it are either sociopaths and charlatans, or are delusional.

Ugh that practice is so wrong and it should be illegal and have it be a form of child abuse because it's medical neglect.

Neglect or depraved indifference is not murder. Two distinct actionable wrong doings.
