Yesterday I was at the grocery store with my parents and happened to see something on the front page of the local newspapers. A couple of volunteer firefighters were just arrested for committing ARSON.

My parents already knew about it and told me more on our way back to their house. These were adult men in their 40's, not teenagers, and they had a job where they're supposed to put OUT fires, not start them on purpose!

I don't know, they must real pyromaniacs or something. What I do know is that you trust or rely on anyone anymore, not even firefighters, whom I usually see as being very brave and heroic for what, like you know, putting themselves in danger to save other people's lives and stuff? Especially if they're not getting paid because they're volunteering to do it? Ugh. :(

Not long before this some younger people also burned down a bunch of summer homes that had just been built after getting drunk. They broke into the homes hoping to find more booze, and when they didn't they set fire to the place. I guess it was good that no one was living there when happened but too many people are just stupid and evil when they drink. And they wonder why I'm teetotal.

Yes. There are firefighters that commit arson like there are police officers that commit crime. Unfortunately.

I always thought it was not uncommon for arsonists to be firefighters because they are already working with fire so are more likely to be interested in it (especially if they're volunteers). .

FIREFIGHTER ARSON

Quote:
Firefighter arson is a long-standing problem that impacts fire departments and communities across the nation.

I know of a guy who had set fires as a kid and teen and as adult became chief of our local fire department.
