Many people outside the US do not realize that police departments here are constantly running "stings", operations designed to entrap well-meaning innocent people into committing "crimes" so as to feed the prison-industrial complex. The FBI has fake websites all over the place to try and goad innocents into "terrorism". Local police are constantly running entrapment operations, often to catch people who fail to obtain obscure licenses for occupations like computer repairman or handyman.

You're in an unfortunate situation, because every setup tends to drive people further into the arms of immoral authoritarians, and calling for moral free agency makes you look like a radical.

The most notorious groups, when they are not outright organs of the state, are calling for little more than self-determination, if you can look past the externals.
