Huh, my state of Washington is 25th. Not overly sad, but not all that happy, either. We gotta be a state full of autistics.

I made a veritable improvement moving from Tennesee (number 38) to California (number 12). I was miserable in Tennessee, and looking back on it I am very glad I was able to make the move.

EDIT: This does affect my politics. Generally, I see politicians like Trump, Priebus, and Sessions as being like the people ruling the roost back in Tennessee, and also in nearby states. I don't want them coming to power because then they can end up spreading their misery everywhere. Sessions especially reminds me of the "good ol' boys" back in Tennessee who ran the show, who were very keen on enforcing conformity and could be quite harsh and unsympathetic at times.

Just thinking about it makes me shudder.

New York State varies widely.

My personal state hardly varies at all.

The high income for Hawaii is misleading. Housing costs are very high due to demand. And food costs are very high as well. I don't see having two or three jobs to pay for it all as being a good thing.

I live in a province, not a state, and I don't know which provinces and territories are happiest because no one seems to care about making polls of our country.

No wait, I *do* live in a state. In fact I live in several states: I'm in a state of anxiety, a state of confusion, a state of depression, a state of borderline insanity...

I currently live in the 4th most miserable state of Indiana. Luckily, i will be moving to the non-state of District of Columbia.
