Yeah turns out diet does not = healthy.
Better off with a stevia sweetened soda as that is a natural non-sugar sweetener..or if you don't mind some sugar just avoid the high fructose corn syrup sodas and stick to pure sugar and don't drink tons of them a day.

Natural <> good.

When it comes to sweetener I'd think that is better.

Haven't they always been saying that artificial sweeteners cause cancer and brain damage?

But I don't slurp down the occasional Monster zero calorie Ultra Red and my new favorite Ultra Violet, because I think they're healthy. I just don't want 30 grams of sugar.

Stupid research.

Using questionnaires, not scientific research.

Did you know that The sun rising might cause death? We have noticed a phenomena that people die while the sun rises.

But is it really all that much better to gulp down 30 grams of artificial sweetener? mean I get the whole cutting down on sugar but its not like artificial sweeteners are a healthy non-harmful alternative. Stevia has no calories and its a leaf...how is that not better than aspartame?

Or cut down on sodas, switch it up for some juice and seltzer water from time to time...or have an unsweetened coffee or tea instead of a diet pepsi in the morning. I mean what is the point of avoiding the sugar if the rest of the drink is just as unhealthy? Replace sugar for a weird questionable synthetic sweetener? I just don't understand the benefit.

There is no benefit because Monster it's a junk consumable. It's just a matter of preference is all. Basically the diet ones are not all sticky and syrupy.

Now I have heard of people losing weight by switching to diet soda.

But I don't only drink diet Monster soda. Sometimes I go for a diet Rockstar :P

Well I have been drinking Mountain Dews energy drinks without high fructose corn syryp...The black label(or now white label and green label as well) mountain dew and spiked with the cactus juice are like that. I mean they still aren't healthy but aren't so heavy on the sweeter as some of the others. I've also been alternating between coffee and strong green tea brews for the morning boost. I actually get nauseous if I try to drink diet drinks, so I have never regularly drank them but anymore drinks with high fructose corn syrup also cause some nausea since I have weaned myself off them by only drinking pure cane sugar, unsweetened drinks or stevia sweetened.

I mean I litterally read the labels when I go grocery shopping and avoid everything with high fructose corn syrup, don't know if most people do that.

My dad calls high fructose corn syrup the 'stealth ingredient'. It's in stuff where you wouldn't expect to find it.

Yep!! I don't consume ANYTHING "diet" or "low-_____", because after all the reading / research I've done, I've decided that whatever they put in things, to make-up for what they've taken out, is worse than what they took out.

I agree, plus they taste plain out nasty. Just have a regular soda, in moderation sugar isn't a bad thing.

Aspartame / Nutrasweet was reportedly, first patented as an insecticide, and people on Youtube use it that way. I like this method, because it still seemed less messy and less stinky than the scented bug sprays. I would rather step barefoot, on the Aspartame / NutraSweet. But, they probably don't like their product to be characterized that way.

When I read some of the case histories, like of people getting brominism, from the red-colored 'Squirt' soda, they remind me of the world record holders, who almost die trying.

I prettymuch eat all, natural, whole foods. I am probably the least likely person, here, to drink one diet soda, so ask how much does it really take, before trouble happens.

One girl insisted on hosting me, and only had this kind of stuff to drink on a hot day, at the beach. I am a large, active, thirsty person, and did feel hangover-ish, afterwards. Maybe, in moderation.
