The President already said:

Donald Trump wrote:
Racism is evil -- and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,"

And of course it was rejected by the left. They just want him out of office. No speech he makes is going to change that.

No, many were happy with that statement, but then he had to go and claim that the anti-racist demonstrators were not only just as bad, but had been responsible for the violence. That's what got the rest of us up in arms.

How did the anti-racists demonstrators conduct themselves? Was their presence there helpful or constructive? Did their presence make a bad situation better?

What benchmark do you want to hold them to? no rationale person wants to see Nazis prancing around public monuments

Alright. Arnie said something right.

I think that Arnie is a great bodybuilder, a good actor and an okay politician. He's right about 45% of the time. I'm glad he was right this time.

No question at all about that.

But looks like maybe doing the right thing the wrong way. I think what would have made a good effective statement would have been quietly holding up pictures of slaves and Holocaust victims etc.
