Carlos Correa was MVP in more ways than one. After the historic victory, he proposed to his girlfriend, and she said yes.

While George Springer was the MVP, Carlos Correa was the real star. After the historic victory, he proposed to his girlfriend, and she said yes.

Congrats to the Astros on their first-ever World Series win.

Altuve is one inch taller than me. Probably AL MVP.

That city needed that.

Baseball is the national pastime again after decades of Football dominence.

World Series magic spotlights NFL's lost luster

Quote:
In recent years, baseball seemed on the outs. Football was the challenger turned champion, the new national pastime. Baseball was too slow, had too many games. Football was only once a week, ha ha ha.

Little did they know how we'd soon be footballed out. As the greed grew, they even tried to stuff Thursday Night Football down our throats like pie after turkey with cranberry sauce -- come on, have some more! There's plenty! Including a bold attempt to make us watch (or find) something called The NFL Network to see some of those midweek yawners.

I am tired of watching young, physically fit men being carried off football fields, limbs broken into pieces, skulls rung like bells. I am tired of reading about older men, former players, experiencing dementia, donating their brains to science so that future generations of football players can judge for themselves whether they care to place their lives at risk to score or block six points.

The Dodgers and Astros scored more in Game 5 than all these football teams over the weekend

Baseball just might be becoming the most popular sport again.

Football, it has been shown, leads to extensive head injuries that are similar to that which occurs in boxing.

I enjoyed playing football as a kid, though. Nobody could tackle me. I was short and stout. I struck out all the time in baseball.

I've watched ballgames at the Double A stadium where little George Springer got to play catch with Torii Hunter. That little game of catch changed his life in a big way!

I liked baseball--I had fast reflexes and almost always got the bat squarely on the ball.

Nope....I just swung and missed LOL. And when I did hit, it was an uppercut, and I grounded out to short.

On the bright side, the NY Yakees didn't stand much of a chance. I don't particularly care about the Astros, but good for them.
