I stopped reading at that point (i.e. after the first sentence). The New York Times is notorious for spreading fake news, it is utterly unreliable. One should not believe a word they print.

I think a lot of fancy food that gets served at places like the White House probably has more saturated fat etc than burgers and tacos.

Uhh, it's relevant when it's the POTUS, because:

That amount of diet coke is definitely not healthy for anyone & the health and well being of the POTUS is relevant not only to American citizens but the entire world because if his body & brain aren't functioning properly due to his diet, he could be more likely to make poor, irrational, or impulsive decisions that could literally cost lives.

Further, 8 Hours a day of watching TV? Being POTUS is a nearly 24/7 job, and at least nearly all waking hours. It's ABSURD that the POTUS would spend 4-8 hours a day, every day, watching TV instead of doing his job of running & leading a country of over 300 Million people. He's not sitting at home with the flu, laid off from work, retired, or on vacation. How should this NOT be a concern?
