The full context is that according to this article, a theater in Germany is giving free tickets to patrons who wear swastikas to a play about Hitler's years when he was an artist.

Can't you ever post any context? that makes it sound much worse than what the actual situation is.

Its a satire play about Hitler its not a nazi support thing and its for wearing it in the auditorium, its not theaters across Germany giving free movie tickets to people wearing swastikas...its for a particular performance and authorities have decided is not a legal violation.

So, people can pay and wear the star of David as a "sign of solidarity with the victims of National Socialist tyranny." (virtue signalling) People willing to break a social taboo (wearing the swastika) for the price of a theatre ticket are (by implication at least) not showing such "solidarity" in full view of the people who are. Sounds more like a sociology experiment than theatre to me, or an open invitation to neo-nazis to take them up on their offer and cause trouble.

I totally support the theatre's right to show the performance, and it seems that the intent of the play is to highlight important issues - but I agree with Sweetleaf, it just comes across as a "click-bait" publicity stunt in this day and age, no matter how much they might intend it as thought-provoking satire (and the kind of thoughts provoked in genuine neo-nazis ain't gonna be what they intended!)
