A secret FBI informant who has come into the spotlight in recent days reportedly met with three advisers to President Trump's campaign during the 2016 presidential election.

The Washington Post reported Friday that in addition to meeting with Trump campaign advisers George Papadopoulos and Carter Page, the informant – described as an American academic – also met with former Trump campaign co-chair Sam Clovis.

The informant, a professor who is said to be a longtime U.S. intelligence source, met Clovis for coffee in northern Virginia in the summer of 2016, during which he offered to provide foreign policy advice to the campaign, the Post reported.

The New York Times had previously reported on Wednesday that the informant approached Papadopoulos and Page.

His name is Stefan Halper, as has been now widely reported. He is an American citizen who was on the faculty at Cambridge University in the UK, and had done secret work for the FBI or CIA before. He was used as a spy to try to set up low-level people in the Trump campaign so that fraudulent surveillance warrants could be obtained that would allow the Obama/Clinton FBI/DOJ/CIA to wiretap Trump. The "Trump/Russia collusion" story was manufactured out of whole cloth in an effort to coverup Hillary's illegal private server, which was hacked by foreign governments, and to change the outcome of the election. This is way bigger than Watergate. It's one of the biggest criminal conspiracies that has ever taken place inside the government.

I've heard the theory on the news today that this so called spy was very likely a Russian who had met with Trump's people, working as a double agent. Thus the FBI is keeping his identity secret for fear that Putin would have him tortured and murdered.
