I really don’t see this whole thing going as far as something like another civil war, that’s just batshit crazy IMO, but sad to say it won’t surprise me one but if some nutter or two open fire on innocent people in mass shootings over all of this stuff. As an outsider watching the shit-show unfold, that’s pretty much what I expect to happen in the days/weeks & months ahead. The propaganda & cult following stuff has taken a pretty strong hold on some people.. and it’s not going to end well.

Likely, most voters are emotional voters, primed by propaganda.

Back in my college days, one of my classmates was surprised to learn I was a liberal, telling me he thought I looked like a conservative.

Something like 50% of college educated white women were willing to vote for Trump.

So in addition to the toothless blue overall wearing, moonshine drinking, pickup truck driving, gun toting stereotype there were millions of men and women with college degrees wearing suites and working in positions of responsibility and power who happily voted for a baboon to run the US.

This is not a consolation—but he did lose the popular vote.

He can very easily lose the 2020 election if a few states go the other way. Especially Florida, which he won by less than a percentage point in 2016.

I think what's more of a concern than whether Trump won the popular vote (or not) is the millions of erstwhile normal average intelligent Americans who thought it was a good idea to vote for a leader who represents the worst type of values in society. This is the mammoth in the room no American wants to talk about.

Exactly. Those people aren’t stupid. They’re racist.

What about all the millions of Americans who voted for a war mongering corporate Dem who embodied the corruption that has infected our political system? That doesn't sound like a good idea either.

I voted for neither of them.

In the world of liberals words are worse than mass murdering brown children.

What does a Trump supporter look like?

Anybody who likes Trump's views enough to vote for him. Actually, Trump supporters can look like anybody.

They might even look like me.

Brown children aren't mass murderers. Therefore liberals are pretty cool.

What happened to the "speak softly, and carry a big stick" of Teddy Roosevelt by the way? Words have power, and they should be used carefully; particularly by the most powerful man in the world.

good number of 'em wear those sillyassed red hats with "MAGA" emblazoned on the forehead. military-short haircuts and t-shirts/jeans. a day's growth of beard. at least that is what they look like in my neck of the woods. their vehicles more often than not have window and bumper sticks espousing various right-wing evils.
