I have to say it was amazing to hear a president actually admit to the power of the Military Industrial Complex. However, I have no doubt he will cave to warmongers Bolton and Pompeo. Most likely Trump is only saying this as a feeble attempt to appear blameless when the bombs start falling.

It doesn't seem like anyone pressures Trump into doing anything.

I knew something was sketchy the moment he hired Bolton. That man's never met a war he didn't like.

The whole thing is a facade to increase arms trade to the Gulf countries, the Iranians know this hence why they're being so bold in their statements.
The Iranian regime is beneficial for the arms business (as a scarecrow tool) so why the US would even want to remove it?

There will be never a US-Iran war.

With Bolton or not, it won't happen, it's the way how Trump wins deals and it's getting known and old.

Nope. Bolton is a serious danger as he is openly working for the Israeli government.

I don't think Israel wants this war either.

They want the US to fight it for them.

Trump won't do anything that might jeopardize his re-election. He knows that after a period of continuous warfare since the beginning of the century, most of his constituents have no real desire for another large-scale conflict. Plus Neocon militarism is really sort of an elitist philosophy, it's not consistent with Trump's populism. In 2001, after a decade of peace, and a much longer period of peace interrupted only by the "glorious" Gulf War of 1990/91, and the attack on the NYC World Trade Center, the general public was easily motivated to "kick Saddam's butt" whether or not he had any responsibility for the WTC attack. Today, nobody is eager or cares to kick anybody's butt including whoever is currently in charge of the Iranian government nor do they GAF about the Iranians' oil. I can guarantee you very few people in the US are even aware that there are US troops deployed to Syria or what they are doing there.

Trump might believe that a war with Iran might facilitate his reelection, though. Historically, sitting presidents usually get a second term during a time of war. He's already betrayed his anti-war platform by vetoing the Yemen bill and bombing Syria. I'm not hearing too much from his loyal supporters about those actions. One of the primary reasons the intelligence community went after him was because they believed he was opposed to the continuation of our regime change foreign policy. He'll play ball with the warmongers if he sees as a way to stay in power.

Not really, Iran is hated by more than the half of the entire Middle East. No one wants this war because it will spillover but not many in the MEA will fight the US for the sake of Iran.

Actually the only officially Pro-Iran Arab countries are Syria which is in total chaos, Qatar which is a tiny country (and has a lot of investments in Europe, so they would stand still), while Lebanon, another tiny country, is half-half (two opposing internal sides) due to Hezbollah. Iraq’s majority of Shia are surprisingly anti Iran.
Actually my only worry is Hezbollah for going to war; and the Houthis are already in war. I think of no other country/party/Militia will be willing to go to war for the sake of Iran other than those two.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia would actually applaud if US strikes Iran. And most Muslim countries such as Turkey and Azerbaijan (A Shia country with bad relation with Iran) would stand still.

Iran doesn’t have a lot of fans in the region.
