Even if all the evidence points to Trump's guilt?" Talk about demanding loyalty to President and party over country.

Everyone is still waiting to hear what that is.

There's the matter of the Emoluments Clause in the constitution which Trump and his family have violated to enrich themselves, as well as using his office for personal advantage, especially in regard to withholding funds for Ukraine's defense in return for finding dirt on a political rival.

There's no proof of any of that happening.

We know Trump wanted a "favor" in return for the funds from Ukraine, and Trump's family has been using his office to drum up business globally, while Trump himself is trying to make money off of the G7 conference by holding it at his bed bug infested resort.

The whistle blowers now discredited by the transcript and the Ukraine president.

"We' know nothing so far.

Says who? Trump clearly asked for a "favor" from Ukraine when the matter of those defense funds came up.
And even if that doesn't work out, the fact remains that Trump and his family are making money off of his office, which is clearly illegal.

Wake me up when something more substantial than the same as usual years long conjecture and innuendo takes place.

How is that innuendo?

You haven't noticed Trump leaving his businesses in a "blind trust," which is just his kids running things for him rather than divesting himself of it all? Or how his daughter (a White House adviser) was given patents and business deals in China right after he became President? Or how Trump has foreign dignitaries staying at his resorts? That's only the tip of the iceberg, and all provable. Or perhaps you've been struck with willful blindness.

A party leader shouldn’t have to implore his underlings publicly to “defend him more strongly.”

Did Nixon or Clinton ever make such a request?

One of the problems is experiential and perspective. If you lived through Vietnam, the draft, Nixon, civil rights struggles, women's rights struggles that were all going on in the 60s, you have a different perspective. Things that seem obvious to us, are not obvious to others. Each generation comes anew, and sees the world from what has happened in their lives only. This is not a criticism. It is just a point of view. When we were young, we though people at the age we are now, to be dinosaurs, who knew nothing about life. :D

For those of us in the latter states of life, can you imagine what life would be like if our current president was the only president in your adult experience? What reference would you have for what is "normal."

Forgive my apathy but I have been hearing these kinds of allegations for years now.

I'm with EzraS on this. I'll get more excited when it all comes down to the "call or fold" phase of the game. Heck, we may find out that both sides are holding nothing more than a pair of deuces with nothing wild and a penny-ante pot!
