Fourteen retired Massachusetts state police troopers that have been implicated but not charged,in payroll fraud case will keep there pensions, according the the MA state retirement board.

Governor Charlie Baker and state police Colonel Christopher Mason had asked the board to strip the pensions of 14 retired troopers who had been accused of fleecing taxpayers.

The board also ruled against a request for restitution from the troopers as well, the retirement board said it could not take action because there was no convictions of these troopers.

State police say they are reviewing there options for future legal action.

If you don't know what happened,46 Massachusetts state police troopers were implicated in a scheme of falsifying overtime claims, and claiming overtime work when they were actually off duty. This scandal brought down former state police Colonel Richard McKeon, the Colonel Kerry Gilpin stepped down as well, neither Colonel was ever implicated in the scandal but the scandal's power I guess just took them under.

The overtime scandal came to light when a trooper used a racial slur and a complaint was made and the time written on a speeding ticket, brought to light iregularities in the way troopers were keeping records.
