Presumably, some are going to have a problem with this. I'd like to see any rational argument against this move.
Personally, I am in favour of it. Some are talking about doing the same in Australia. Less chance of re-infection, More work for the locals. Seems like a no-brainer.

Who would pick now to immigrate to the U.S.?

'Xenophobic scapegoating': Trump plan to ban immigration slammed
Confusion after Trump, without giving details, says he will 'temporarily suspend immigration' due to coronavirus.
United States President Donald Trump caused confusion and anger after saying in a late-night Monday tweet that he will "temporarily suspend immigration" due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Referring to the coronavirus, or "the Invisible Enemy", as well as "the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens", Trump tweeted that he will "be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!"
If there are American citizens like me who can't get out & go to church or social gatherings because we'll get ourselves all sick, then I can totally get the idea of locking down the borders.
It makes sense. This stuff is serious business, and we don't want to share our sickness with new immigrants or travelers. Nothing says "Welcome to America!" like drowning in your own lung fluids.
Trump here is not being xenophobic; he's acting within authority and doing the right thing for a change.

Enough to deal with right now... In addition to immigrating during a pandemic, how will they find a job, or apply for services? All the websites are either crashing due to volume, or just plain kicking the applicants out. I just can't imagine why anyone would be offended.

Trump being a xenophobic is nothing new. No fig leaf is going to change that he is, at heart, a bigot.
His stated justification doesn’t really stand up to scrutiny. The virus is already in the US and resources need to be focused there. You are also already screening people at ports.
It’s not clear right now what the upcoming order actually does, or whether it will be legal. Does it stop people who are already in the US from applying for green cards or citizenship? It would seem rather difficult to put a public health benefit on such measures.

I find the progressive's hatred of Trump "fascinating". This is beyond simple politics.
