The Gulf Coast is in the crosshairs yet again
1. Extremely dangerous storm surge and hurricane conditions are
expected within portions of the northern Yucatan Peninsula of
Mexico beginning tonight, and a Hurricane Warning is in effect.
2. Heavy rainfall will affect portions of the Cayman Islands,
western Cuba and the northern Yucatan Peninsula through midweek.
This rainfall could lead to significant flash flooding and
mudslides. The potential for heavy rain and flash flooding will
increase across portions of the central Gulf Coast, Tennessee
Valley, and southeastern United States as Delta moves inland later
this week.
3. There is an increasing likelihood of life-threatening storm surge
and dangerous hurricane-force winds, especially along the coasts of
Louisiana and Mississippi, beginning on Friday. Residents in these
areas should ensure they have their hurricane plan in place and
monitor updates to the forecast.

Aw man, sure seems like Gulf Coast residents are getting far more than they signed up for.
I'm not a Twitter user but just found this on there,

That's getting serious.
Playing in Google found there was a Tropical Storm Delta in 2005,

Seems 2005 was a record setting season;

Hurricane Delta slams into Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula and heads toward the US Gulf Coast
Delta, a Category 2 storm, made landfall roughly halfway between the resort towns of Cancun and Playa del Carmen in Puerto Morelos, according to the US National Hurricane Center. The hurricane was expected to bring dangerous storm surge of 8 to 12 feet to the Yucatan coast.
The hurricane quickly made its way over the peninsula and reemerged in the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday afternoon. Back over open water, Delta will likely strengthen back into a major hurricane before turning north toward Louisiana.
Delta is just the latest major storm in one of the busiest hurricane seasons in recent history. When it hits the US in the coming days, Delta will become the 10th named storm to make landfall in the US this season, setting the record for the most in one year. It will be the fifth hurricane to make landfall, the most storms the US has seen since 2005.
In particular, Louisiana is staring down what could be its fourth hurricane this season. The southwest part of the state is still recovering from Hurricane Laura, which made landfall as a category 4 hurricane less than six weeks ago.
1. Winds and water levels along the northern coast of the Yucatan
Peninsula will gradually subside this evening. Heavy rainfall,
which could lead to significant flash flooding, will affect the
northern Yucatan Peninsula through early Thursday.
2. Delta is expected to grow in size as it approaches the northern
Gulf Coast, where life-threatening storm surge and dangerous
hurricane-force winds are likely beginning Friday, particularly for
portions of the Louisiana coast. Storm Surge and Hurricane Watches
are in effect, and residents in these areas should follow advice
given by local officials.
3. Flash, urban, small stream and minor to isolated moderate river
flooding is likely Friday and Saturday from portions of the central
Gulf Coast into portions of the Lower to Middle Mississippi Valley.
As Delta moves farther inland, additional heavy rainfall is expected
in the Ohio Valley and Mid Atlantic this weekend.

Science also says historical this planet goes through ice ages as a process of this same situation have read,
Global warming is a big part of the process. General this may account for the rather difficult weather changes we must endure . Imho

Hurricane Delta Forecast Discussion
1. Life-threatening storm surge is expected near and east of where
Delta makes landfall this evening, and a Storm Surge Warning is in
effect from High Island, Texas, to Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The
highest inundation of 7 to 11 feet is expected somewhere between
Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge and Morgan City, Louisiana. Residents
in the warning area should promptly follow advice given by local
officials. The storm surge risk remains high despite the forecast
decrease in intensity before landfall since Delta is a relatively
large hurricane.
2. Hurricane-force winds are expected this afternoon and evening
somewhere within the Hurricane Warning area between High Island,
Texas, and Morgan City, Louisiana. Hurricane force winds will also
spread inland across portions of southern Louisiana near the path of
Deltas center this evening and tonight.
3. Heavy rainfall will lead to significant flash flooding and minor
to major river flooding in parts of Louisiana today and Saturday.
Additional flooding is expected across portions of the central Gulf
Coast into the Lower Mississippi Valley
Unfortunately Delta is expected to make landfall at or near Lake Charles, Louisiana which is still in ruins from Hurricane Laura that struck them just a few weeks ago.

Hundreds of thousands without power as Tropical Storm Delta drenches Gulf Coast
"Delta will continue to impact portions of the Gulf Coast with storm surge, heavy rainfall, flooding, and dangerous winds as it advances northward," the National Weather Service said Saturday.
The hurricane slammed the same region that was devastated by Hurricane Laura just six weeks ago.
Lafayette boy with autism meets Weather Channel's Jim Cantore: 'This is his whole world'
Alex, who has autism, has been obsessed with The Weather Channel for about a year. When Cetnar heard Cantore was in the area to cover Hurricane Delta, she took to social media in the hopes that someone could connect her son with the iconic meteorologist.
Alex's latest interest has been anything weather-related. Alex, a third-grader at Broadmoor Elementary School, is specifically obsessed with The Weather Channel and three of the team's meteorologists, including Cantore.
Cetnar has used Alex's intense interest in the weather as a teaching tool.
"I'll ask what state The Weather Channel is in," Cetnar said. "Where's Jen Carfagno? Where's Jim Cantore? We'll use that to learn about the cities and the states and the bodies of water and the geography of the area."
This time, The Weather Channel is right in their backyard.
He was really good about it," Cetnar said. "It's just a couple of seconds in Jim Cantore's day, but it made Alex's entire day. This is his whole world."
Alex, who is normally not very expressive with people he doesn't know, answered a few questions about his family's plans for the hurricane and gave Cantore the bag of ground coffee.
