Well, my cooking skills were a solid zero percent before the pandemic.

They have now quadrupled!

My skills improved after watching some culinary tutorials, but not TV shows

Before the pandemic, the only Filipino dish I knew how to cook was chicken-pork adobo ("CPA"). Now I can also prepare pancit, tapas, sinagang na baboy, kalderetta, tortas, lechon kawali, lumpia, sisig, bulalo, pandesal, tinola (chicken or beef), and empanadas.

I would say that is something of an improvement!

:D

I've helped my mom cook dinner more often over the course of this year; sometimes she's okay with it, but sometimes it annoys her.

I make a mean chili. It's so mean, it grabs your shirt and pulls your face down into the tomatoey, spicy, piping hot goodness! That's mean!
