The military brass has been very much against Trump since he assumed the Presidency (and, yes, before then, too)
And for good reason-----he's a friggin' loose cannon!
He kept the USA out of any new Wars , I believe.
Wondering if the joint chiefs of staff intended to create a pre-alert , to activate the the Military Complex .
Or if they are just being reassuring to the Military .
He also abandoned our allies on the battlefield which resulting in images of American forces being pelted with potatoes during their retreat. He has damaged our military's relationship with our NATO partners. He has insulted our intelligence services and taken the word of our enemy over theirs. He assassinated a military general against the rules of war, placing our troops at greater risk. He has pardoned war criminals against the advice of the military. And the list could go on, but lets say the military, who he has personally insulted and berated, probably don't hold him in high regard and think of him as dangerous. You could Google what Gen. Mattis has said about him:
Quote:
“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us,” Mattis writes. “We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children.”
Not a lot of love there. (Ironically, he was the only one in the administration called "Mad Dog.")
Yes, he has started no new wars (yet), neither has he ended any.
