Twitter is a private company. They can do that. The 1st amendment is about government censorship.

The reason why I think that none of them should use facebook or twitter etc is that one can gain an unfair advantage if one has the time to spend on the sites, where the politicians who spend more time working on our behalf do not have much time for these social media sites. (So if we have a culture like we have now, that needs politicians to air their views on these sites and we require their presence, how are they supposed to get any work done?).
