‘Real concern’ within international tennis community over Peng Shuai’s disappearance
17 hours ago

There is “real concern” within the international tennis community over the disappearance of Chinese star Peng Shuai, according to Adoni Media’s Leisa Goddard.

The Australian is reporting concerns have increased about Peng Shuai’s disappearance after a bizarre email was released by the state-controlled media which was alleged to be written by her.

“You only need to real the message that was put out,” Ms Goddard told Sky News host Jenna Clarke.

“It doesn’t look like anything that you would write as a regular Joe when you’re putting out some sort of tweet or some sort of message on social media or across email.

“It’s just stunted. It doesn’t seem like anything a real person would write. It seems like propaganda.

“I think there should be very long and loud calls to actually see and hear from her because it’s China and who knows what has happened.”

There are fears she has been murdered by the Chinese political hierarchy because she claimed she was raped by one of them.

Do I know? No.
Do I think it is possible? Yep.

‘We’ve got to stand up’ to China: Former Labor MP
November 19, 2021 - 19:32PM

Former Labor MP Michael Danby says the Women’s Tennis Association has got “grit” after its CEO threatened to stop holding tournaments in China if missing tennis player Peng Shuai’s safety was not confirmed.

Peng Shuai accused a top Chinese government official of sexual assault but has not been seen in two weeks since she made the claim.

“Good on the Women’s Tennis Association, they’ve got more grit than the American National Basketball Association or Hollywood,” Mr Danby told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

He said this is “happening all over the place”.

“Flights over Taiwan, arresting tennis stars, disappearing your most famous actress.

“We’ve got to stand up to them.”

In an effort to quell international concerns over Peng Shuai’s disappearance, Chinese state-run media released two videos of the tennis player over the weekend—one of her eating dinner, and one at a youth tennis tournament. International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach said he held a 30-minute video call with Peng on Sunday in which she told him she is “safe and well” at her home in Beijing, but Women’s Tennis Association CEO Steve Simon is not satisfied. “While it is positive to see her, it remains unclear if she is free and able to make decisions and take actions on her own, without coercion or external interference,” he said. “This video alone is insufficient.” The story remains heavily censored in China.

Continues to be concerning.

I’d rather live under Trump than in China, which is saying a lot.

I have made that comment multiple times, myself.

People think they had it bad under Trump, which admittedly wasn't great, but go live in a totalitarian country like China and see how life is with no freedoms at all, except the freedoms that the CCP arbitrarily choose to give. 8)

What about the "Conspiracy Theory" she is being held against her will and threatened with punishment if she doesn't dance to the ccp's tune? 8)

That would be everyone in the People's republic. My understanding is that dictators (whether it be Gaddafi, Kim Jong-Il or members of the Chinese CP) sleep with whoever they want. Mao Tse Tung slept with different teenage girls every day. Nobody cared. If the CCP ministers see an athlete or celebrity they want to screw it happens.

What is different is this one squealed to the media. If she is under detention then is it really surprising?
