Actress Linda Lavin, who is perhaps best remembered for her role on the sitcom, Alice, has passed away at age 87. Another piece of my childhood has disappeared.

Sad.  I liked that show, although my favorite character was Vera (Elizabeth "Beth" Howland).

Now the only main cast member remaining is Polly Holiday, who portrayed Florence Jean "Flo" Castleberry.

Of the original cast, yes. Diane Ladd (Belle on the series, Flo in "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore"), and Celia Weston (Jolene) are still with us.

Alice was one of my favorite sitcoms as a child.

Mine, too.
