Hmmmm Palin publishes a map with democrats being targeted with gun crosshairs on March 2010



Arizona Democrat Gabrielle Giffords, was targeted and shot and critically injured on January 8, 2011.

Even if Palin did not intend for that to happen she must take some responsibility for creating a climate where she at the very least it was ok to take "shots" at democrat candidates.

Jard Lee Loughner (the shooter) was mentally ill, but his intended target was Giffords. I understand for legal reasons there was no direct link proved, but Palin's response after the shooting suggests she was hiding, weaving and ducking so she knew (at the very least) she did something inappropriate. Worst of all she invoked blood libel on accusations she was connected to Loughner. Blood libel is the false accusation, perhaps originating in the 12th century, that Jews murder children to use their blood for religious rituals and holidays. Palin appears to be appropriating the term to indicate that she is a victim, as a result of some groups and individuals claiming that her political rhetoric contributed to the actions of the deranged, lone gunman.

Her attempt at trying to extract money from NY times reminds me of another low-life Kyle Rittenhouse trying to monetise the deaths of two people he was responsible for killing after he was legally exonerated. She might be trying to clean the slate but she is one of the causes of the rise of the far right gun nuts giving rise to the tea Party and later to trump, MAGAs and Qanon.
