You can run to Cancun, but you can't run from your sagging poll numbers.

It would be incredible if Dems pulled off a win there.

Trumpists seem to have put a lot more of the map into play that we'd reasonably expect to see. Maybe they are gonna make America great again after all, by making the GOP repulsively toxic to normies.

That would be amazing. I'm not holding my breath though.

If he can take the walking skeleton (Rick Scott) on the other side of the Gulf with him, even better.

While the race is neck-and-neck, I think Allred has a better path forward than if it had been a rematch with Beto.

While the 2018 matchup was indeed close, one thing to consider is that was before the El Paso and Uvalde shootings. I feel that Beto's "Yeah, I'm coming for your guns" remark, during his brief presidential campaign, alienated independent, on-the fence voters during the 2022 governor's race.

In a state like Texas or Florida, a Democrat has to be able to win over not only independents, but conservatives who are displeased with the GOP's increasingly hard-right trajectory. Allred has taken a far more nuanced approach to the big issues, rather than going for the jugular as Beto did, and this is why I consider Allred to be a more formidable candidate.

Alfred Pennyworth is beating Tom Cruz with a new pole?

Speak up, sonny!
