It sounds like it could be useful...even though expensive.

Currently, tap water in our area is cheap. But if something happens to the water company we're tough out of luck.

But is it cost effective compared to pulling underground water supplies or dams?

If it means water is free forever, the wealthy are going to kill this project.

Sounds GREAT for places that dont need it. And useless for places that need it.

The only places where it could possibly deliver as promised would be in places of high humidity that would have a lot of water in the air...like here in D.C., London, Miami. And those places have plenty of fresh water sources already.

An arid desert area would lack the water content in the air for it capture that much water in practical time.

What naturalplastic said. Here in London, you can extract a lot of water by providing dehumidifiers to damp, poorly-insulated homes. The problem is then how to get rid of the water, not how to use it.

There are companies in Silicon Valley that create millions of dollars per day out of thin air, but no matter how much they create, nobody can afford to pay the rent.
