Is this regular tea?
According to the article:
While the study did not delve into the specific types of tea, it found no substantial differences in delayed aging between UK black tea drinkers and Chinese green tea enthusiasts. I suspect the country you drink the tea in has no effect on its life-extending properties, but you never know.
I seem to remember that green tea is supposed to be more potent in its general health benefits than ornery tea though. And an extended lifespan is probably the last thing you want if your general health is going south. I started drinking green tea mostly because black tea stains my teeth faster than my dental hygienist can sandblast it off, and because I like the taste of jasmine-flavoured green tea. Don't know of any black tea with jasmine. So for me it's great - consume something I enjoy, get whiter teeth, and maybe live longer and feel better. My only slight concern is that tea contains fluoride, and some folks think the amount of fluoride most of us are already swallowing is toxic.
It seems that life-extending interventions are still rather unproven, so if you want to live a long time then maybe avoiding things known to shorten life would be more reliable.
Fun fact: Animal studies suggest that a near-starvation diet gives rats an extended life, and the rats are healthier in their old age. Possibly worth a try if you don't mind being hungry all the time.
