Yes, a lot of people have stopped using the word but I still often hear and read that word being used as a slur. But even back in the day, it was never used in formal settings, never mind in public by a presidential candidate.

No matter what you call it, that perception of her is a real problem for her campaign.

She attended the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco. Not quite Ivy League but certainly close.

She was Attorney General of California (2011–2017). This means she must have been licensed to practice law in California, which means she must have managed to pass the California state bar exam, which is notoriously one of the hardest state bar exams in the country.

Perception is what counts. "Word Salad" is the euphemism often being used. Yes, sexism and racism are factors.

What are you talking about? WHAT perception of her?

Never heard of anyone who actually thought that she was ret*d.

The "word salad" slander lasted about 15 minutes (triggered by one speech in Taiwan)is already largely forgotten, had more to do with suspected honesty impairment than suspected intellectual impairment, and on both counts (smarts or candor) her worst word salad moments were never as bad as a typical Trump speech.So if folks still hold that against her it wouldnt make any difference anyway.

Trump needs to be careful stigmatizing word salad, considering how often his rallies feature him vomiting up word salad of his own.

According to everyone but Trump he lost the debate; so he lost to someone he labels as a ret*d. What does that make him? Instead of addressing his policies he name calls and insults his opponents like a ten year old would.

In the conservative world Harris and word salad are synonymous. Not just MAGA’s, conservatives of all stripes. As the cliche goes if you say it often enough. This will influence swing voters.
