There’s probably only a handful people on this forum who know who he was.

Best known for his anti-war activity during the Vietnam War. He sent his draft card back to Selective Service and went to prison for his stance. He served 20 months of a 24 month sentence.

He and Joan Baez traveled the country together as part of the anti war movement. I heard him speak when I was in college. They married before he went to prison and Baez gave birth to his son while he was in prison. They later divorced. She wrote and performed a song about this period.

He was articulate and impassioned. After the war, he had a career as an author and journalist.

These things happen way too often, I'd say. But the healthcare providers also have such problems, as shown here. So the whole system is kind of rotten.
