The second day I had my permit I totalled my mom's car. I hit a telephone pole, two fence posts, and a tree - the tree is the only thing that kept me from going over a 30 foot drop. The dashboard was moved 6 inches, but I didn't get so much as a bruise. My father's seatbelt popped off from the force of the collision (which a year later was announced as a problem with that type of car) but he too was uninjured.

But that's nothing compared to this guy. :

I've never been in a traffic accident, but there was one time I almost was. I was about to make a left turn when suddenly a car shot through a red light and nearly slammed into me. The only reason it missed is my compulsive habit of slowing down more than necessary before making a turn. Close call!
