I don't know much about security issues w/ RedNote, compared to TikTok, but certainly there would be a way to remove alleged spy software from such apps.
But the issue is that Abbott wants any excuse to control people. Under his governorship, he has banned: abortion, cannabis, dick pics, ownership of more than 6 sex toys (google it), trans people using bathrooms that match their gender identity, LGBT adoption of children, gender-reassignment medical care (and asking CPS to investigate it as "child abuse").
Not to mention the sham impeachment trial of our AG (the outcome was rigged), his mishandling of Covid, screwing our education system, virtually non-existent worker protections (which has affected me personally), and worst of all--letting 200+ people freeze to death due to his mismanagement of the power grid.
