I was scouring the internet and found a luxury clothing store company, Woodward & Lothrop which closed in 1993 that continued to have segregated workforce up to its closure. Apparently black staff were not employed to sell clothing to high end customers and were only employed in the backroom.
I am wondering if it now means companies could have selection criteria for sales staff or client services which excludes certain races (without mentioning race) and not face legal consequences?
