Tesla charging stations torched in apparent arson near Boston, latest attack on Elon Musk company

Quote:
More than a half-dozen Tesla charging stations were torched near Boston on Monday, police said, in what appears to be the latest attack on the company owned by Elon Musk, the billionaire adviser to President Donald Trump.

Police officers and firefighters rushed to The Point Shopping Center, at 830 Constitution Ave. in Littleton, Massachusetts, at about 1:10 a.m. and found Tesla charging stations "engulfed in flames and heavy, dark smoke," according to a police statement.

The first responders had Littleton Electric Light & Water Department shut down power as a "total of seven charging stations sustained heavy fire-related damage," police said.

There were no injuries.

Fire investigators believe that the "fire appears to have been intentionally set," police said.

"It's scary that somebody would come and torch these because it's hazardous to society, hazardous to the air and dangerous," Tesla driver Zaheer Kalvert, who regularly uses these chargers in Littleton, told NBC Boston. "It's really unfortunate."

A suspect in northern Colorado was arrested last week for allegedly trying to burn down a Tesla dealership in Loveland, police said.

And a Tesla Cybertruck was vandalized in the San Francisco suburb of Redwood City in late January.

Musk and Tesla have been targeted in Europe, too.

A suspected arson attack led to power being cut and production halted at Tesla’s plant in Grünheide, just southeast of Berlin, on Tuesday, authorities said.

Police had already been investigating an incident at that same plant in Grünheide, where a massive image of Musk making a gesture seen by many as resembling a Nazi salute was projected on the factory wall on the night of Jan. 23. Earlier that month, Musk — a supporter of Germany’s far right movement — made his now infamous, straight arm salute at a Trump inauguration event.

And eight cars were burned at a dealership in the southern French city of Toulouse during an apparent arson attack late Sunday night and early Monday morning, officials said

It was an enduring mystery why people have historically vandalised Teslas? perhaps their were various reasons across the years but even with the installed security cameras people in Australia still love to "key" them.

Media outlets claim its a form of car-envy but others say its because its electric and people are against green energy. But I guess now its because of Musk himself turning himself into some villain from some cartoon series.

I think it has something to do with the way he saluted the crowd at Trump's inauguration.

Teslas set on fire with Molotov cocktails and shot with gun in Las Vegas attack

Quote:
A suspect armed with a gun and Molotov cocktails launched a "targeted attack" against a Tesla location in Las Vegas early Tuesday, spray painting "resist," firing several shots and torching multiple cars, authorities said.

Gunshots and flames erupted at the Tesla Collision Center, at 6260 Badura Ave., at 2:45 a.m. in the latest violent incident involving property associated with Elon Musk, the billionaire Tesla CEO and adviser to President Donald Trump.

"This was a targeted attack against a Tesla facility, " LVMPD Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren told reporters. "We do believe that it is isolated at this time. We do not believe there is further threat to the general public."

The suspect wore all black, and "used what appeared to be a Molotov cocktails and a firearm to conduct his attack," Korean said.

"At least five Tesla vehicles were damaged to include two of which were engulfed in flames," Koren continued.

The attacker "fired three rounds into different Tesla vehicles" and at least one un-ignited Molotov cocktail was recovered from the scene, the assistant sheriff said.

The word "RESIST" in all-caps was stray pained in red on the center's doors.

There will be more police assigned to Tesla locations around Las Vegas, Koren said.

About 22 hours before this Las Vegas incident and 300 miles away near San Diego, sheriff's deputies on patrol there drove by a Tesla dealership when "multiple cars were found with swastikas spray-painted on them," officials said.

"In addition, several windows of the dealership building had also been spray-painted with swastikas and profanity," the San Diego County Sheriff's Office said.

And in another overnight incident of suspected arson, police say two CyberTrucks were damaged by fire at a Tesla dealership in Kansas City, Missouri.

The FBI said it’s working with the ATF and the Kansas City police to investigate the incident.

“Similar incidents have occurred in several states and the FBI and ATF are coordinating with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to gather information,” FBI Kansas City said in a Tuesday statement

Looking like the car isn't the target, more likely the CEO...

Thoughts and prayers for anyone who might be impacted by the dangerous combustion products released when Teslas burn.

Reminds me of this:

Quote:
The Reichstag fire (German: Reichstagsbrand, pronounced [ˈʁaɪçstaːksˌbʁant] ⓘ) was an arson attack on the Reichstag building, home of the German parliament in Berlin, on Monday, 27 February 1933, precisely four weeks after Adolf Hitler was sworn in as Chancellor of Germany. Marinus van der Lubbe, a Dutch council communist, was the culprit; the Nazis attributed the fire to a group of Communist agitators, used it as a pretext to claim that Communists were plotting against the German government, and induced President Paul von Hindenburg to issue the Reichstag Fire Decree suspending civil liberties, and pursue a "ruthless confrontation" with the Communists.[1] This made the fire pivotal in the establishment of Nazi Germany.

Didn't Bannon or the wacky one that dresses like an actual cartoon villain (Stone-something) say they actually follow the Nazi playbook, or am I making that up?

3 people face federal charges in Tesla arson attacks in U.S. as 80 more vehicles at Canada dealership are damaged

Quote:
About 80 Tesla vehicles at a car dealership in Canada were damaged, authorities said, as the U.S. attorney general announced charges Thursday against three people accused of using Molotov cocktails to set fire to Tesla cars and charging stations.

On Wednesday, police in Hamilton, Ontario, were called to a dealership on Wentworth Street for a report of damage to vehicles that had been parked outside. The vehicles had deep scratches, punctured tires and other damage, Hamilton police said in a news release.

Authorities are reviewing security video and asking the public for help.

Similar incidents have happened across several U.S. states in recent weeks. On Thursday, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced charges against three "violent Tesla arsonists" after attacks in Colorado, Oregon and South Carolina.

"The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended," Bondi said in a statement. "Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars."

Bondi referred to "domestic terrorism," but no one has been charged with domestic terrorism, which is not a specific federal crime.

One person was accused of being armed with a suppressed AR-15 rifle and throwing eight Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership in Salem, Oregon, the Justice Department said in a news release.

The person arrested in the Charleston, South Carolina, incident, is alleged to have written wrote "profane messages against President Trump around Tesla charging stations" before using Molotov cocktails to ignite the stations, the news release said.

In Loveland, Colorado, a person was arrested and accused of trying to light Tesla vehicles on fire with Molotov cocktails.

Bondi vowed that all three will "face the full force of the law." Their names have not been released. They each face charges that carry minimum sentences of five years in prison.

On Tuesday, a person armed with a gun and Molotov cocktails set Tesla vehicles on fire at a Tesla Collision Center in Las Vegas. Police said it was a "targeted attack" that damaged at least five vehicles, two of which were engulfed in flames.

The attacker "fired three rounds into different Tesla vehicles" and spray-painted the word "RESIST" in all capital letters on the center's door, authorities alleged.

It's amazing how ok people are with attacking Teslas (people's rightful property), and these kinds of Thoughts-and-Giggles; compared to what it is and the insane hammer-dropping reaction of outrage when it's some liberal or Establishmenty thing that dares to get attacked... (LOL).

It all makes it no wonder that a President like Trump was able to win twice.

Atticking Teslas is pointless. Just wait for the glued on parts to fall off.

Yeah, that guy!

Anyway, can you imagine having bought a Tesla when they were socially progressive, but then it gets molotov's in the parking lot while you're online venting about Musk. Who would you get upset with? The vandal for damaging your car? Musk for being such a dippoop and selling out everyone that bought the product in part to direct society towards progress? Yourself for believing that your decisions mattered? All three? Who? I need to know to end the thought process.

FBI launches task force to crack down on attacks against Tesla

Quote:
The FBI has launched a task force to investigate a spate of recent attacks targeting Tesla cars and dealerships, as the agency's director calls such acts “domestic terrorism.”

"The FBI has been investigating the increase in violent activity toward Tesla, and over the last few days, we have taken additional steps to crack down and coordinate our response," FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X on Monday. "This is domestic terrorism. Those responsible will be pursued, caught, and brought to justice."

"Justice is coming," Dan Bongino, the bureau's deputy director, wrote on X.

Elon Musk, who owns Tesla and X and is overseeing the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency cost-cutting initiative, replied to Bongino with fire emojis.

Ben Williamson, the FBI's assistant director for public affairs, said the new task force would work with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to "crackdown" on violent Tesla attacks.

The news of the task force’s formation came just hours after multiple incendiary devices were found at a Tesla showroom in Austin, Texas.

Austin police responded to a Tesla dealership around 8 a.m. on Monday and found suspicious devices. The force’s bomb squad determined the devices "to be incendiary" before they were removed. No injuries or damage were reported and the FBI is leading the investigation.

Tesla’s headquarters is in Austin.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Monday blamed the Tesla attacks on "radical liberals." "I stand ready to assist in any way to bring these perpetrators to justice," he wrote on X.

Several protests across the country in recent weeks have opposed Musk’s politics and actions with DOGE, which has faced scrutiny since January for reducing government costs and firing thousands of federal workers.

In addition to peaceful protests, there have been at least 80 reported cases of vandalism or arson of Tesla vehicles in the U.S. and Canada. At least 10 Tesla dealerships, charging stations and facilities have been hit by vandals, many of whom have lit cars on fire.

Over the weekend, a man in Florida was arrested and charged with assault after he allegedly drove his car toward a crowd of people protesting outside a Tesla dealership and narrowly avoided them. No one was injured.

The suspect, Andrew Dutil, appeared to be a Trump supporter based on his social media posts.

A group called Tesla Takedown has been leading peaceful protests at the car dealerships. The group describes itself as opposing violence, vandalism and destruction of property.

Yep. Vandalism is not the answer.

It is sufficient just to make it very unfashionable to buy the damned things. And that has already happened.

Elon has thoroughly alienated his former customer base (people who desire green energy). On the other hand, most Trump supporters never were interested in electric cars in the first place, and most are unlikely to become interested now.

Fortunately, there are now other companies that make electric cars.

Yep. In the past, Tesla vandals were right-wingers who hated electric cars. Now the vandalism is happening for other reasons, but still, not a good thing. I worry that it may become today's Reichstag fire.
