Early rising no good for the heart: study

Sleep late folks, and tell your boss you need to in order to keep healthy... I'm gonna print this one out and laminate it :)

You may not want to jump to conclusions. It doesn't sound like the study actually isolated early rising as a cause of heart problems. For example, the article said that most of the early risers were older people, a group that's already in a higher risk bracket.

But any excuse to sleep in is good enough for me.

Hey, now I have an excuse for oversleeping. "Boss, I'm trying to keep my heart healthy, so I decided to sleep late today."

Correlation does not indicate causation. And, as has already been noted, the results are largely invalidated by a failure to take into account differences in sleeping patterns across different age groups.

Most studies like this never amount to anything; they're talked about for maybe a few weeks and then either contradicted by another study or else forgotten.

But hey: any excuse to sleep late is fine by me.
