This should be merged with the Circumcision thread.
Hardly the same. This was a malicious attempt by a mother to make her child unattractive and less likely to have sex. She was a lazy mother who, instead of teaching morals decided to 'remove' the problem. Circumsicions have medicals reasons backing them up and aren't done out of spite.
Wait, so what's the difference?
As long as you stay civil... I'm not in the mood today.
The difference I see is that with a circumsicion there are medical reasons, which I stated in the other thread. It's easier to take care of and clean, and is generaly more attractive. Infant circumsicion isn't even remembered ((and please don't bring up this PTSD stuff because that's no where even remotely close to being testable)). It's done out of concern for the child's health, and has nothing to do with stopping him from having sex.
With this mom, she wanted her daughter to not have sex, period. She shaved her head previously and when that didn't work went to an extreme. Without anestisia and at an age where the girl will surely remember it for life. There was no real concern behind this, frankly I doubt the mother cared that her daughter had sex, but more that her daughter had sex with her boyfriend. It was a spiteful way to get back at her, and needs to be pnished as such.
Man I don't want to remain civil!
But ok.
Similarities.
1. Circumcision decreases the amount of pleasure derived from sex so it can be construed as an attempt to prevent youngster from masturbating or engaging in sexual intercourse.
2. It was done against the will of the children. The girl clearly did not want her 'genitalia' pierced (what part of the genitalia was pierced). In the same way, circumcision is done without consent as the child is unable to form a rational decision about a cosmetic procedure that will change a vital organ for the rest of his life.
3. There's no real reason for circumcision either.
4. Circumcision is also done without anesthesia.
Your arguments refuted.
1. "Circumcision is prettier". When I ask a woman out, the first thing she looks at is not my penis, it's either my body or my personality or something else. Unless you walk around with your penis hanging out then I honestly doubt being un-cut will prevent you from getting laid.
