My first question, upon reading this headline, was: "Just how ugly does a man have to be to get 225 years in prison for indecent exposure?"

I mean, no supermodel would ever get that -- heck, they wouldn't even get 1 year! Ah, the always-fair justice system...

Remember everyone, a man can go to jail for 225 years for exposing himself, but abortion is legal.

Yeah, but isn't Montana one of the most conservative states in the country?

Maybe, but still!

I wish this country's biggest problem was indecent exposure.

Gosh, I thought Montana was an easy state. You don't need to go through the DEQ for your vehicle for a license plate and you don't need to take a written test for a Montana license if your current license isn't expired yet. They seem more open about the mentally impaired because there was this ret*d guy who got involved in a crime with his brother and the brother got busted not him because of his disability. He went to prison and the ret*d guy didn't. I don't know what they did with him. There was this other case where this was this guy in his late 20's and there was something wrong with him and he broke into someone's house and took things because these people told him too. He got caught and the people got in trouble and the judge decided to put the guy in a group home while in another state he would have gone to jail too. I thought they were more liberal but I guess not. After all, Bush did win in that state.

Wow. If only that were bad enough to be worth 225 years.

Never mind the thousands that go free due to lack of prison space after actually committing a serious crime.

If only that was a big problem, if only...

Or the many murderers who SOMEHOW manage to get free on bail. Honestly, I'm questioning the logic of Bail.

At least abortion is legal. :)

He confronted three women in two city parks and exposed himself and masturbated in front of them. There is a little more to this story than a couple of X-Rated performances.

The person was on parole after serving nine years in prison for rape. He is on the Montana Sex Offender Registry classified as a Sexually Violent Predator.

http://doj.mt.gov/svor/searchdetail.asp ... MT01808241

The judge may have very well saw this as an indicator that he would be very likely to commit future rapes. Here is an article to the news story

whoa that is a big sentence, is the judge able to do that? me thinks that the person could appeal cos of the cruel and unusual punishment provision of the US constitution.

but why is it that murderers and rapists get off lightly and this guy gets 225 years?

After getting out after serving nine years on rape, the story says,

On two later prior counts, exposing himself, and one rape, non concensual sex, he got probation. He was on probation on those charges. He was given every break, no jail time mentioned, but treatment and stopping were in order. There are lots of women who will watch for some cash, they play games for money, check the truck stop, there is no excuse for picking on strangers in the park.

He was given every chance, he was a danger to the community, Tier 3, highly likely to repeat. He did everything to show he was going to strike again.

In many place Parole happens after 10% of a sentence has been served, like his 99 years for rape?, some half, other counts can be run together, the sentance will be reviewed, he might get it reduced to 20 years. The judge did what he could to make sure this guy is not around for 7.5 to 10 years, and is on Parole for the rest of his life.

Everything about him says 100% going to rape again. Non-consenual and no trial usually means a minor and a plea deal to avoid her going to court, small town and all that. Well the last little girl talked, and who knows what he will do next time, get even with the last one? There will be no next time.

He got away with it, because no one wanted her to have to go to court. She was not likely his first, girls do not talk about somethings.

He stays in the same small town doing the same things, most likely had since high school, local family,

it had to be dealt with.
